How do YOU discover good players?

As the title says I’m curious how everyone chooses wether a player is a keeper or not. Obviously, with hidden attributes a big part of this game some players are not what they seem. A player with great attributes in 3pt May never shoot, or a great driver may only shoot 3 pointers. I personally have 5.5 stars who dominate the 6.5 stars on my team. How do you go about discovering these players?
